Guys, I have a confession I need to get off my chest. So I made myself a promise that I wouldn’t buy myself any clothes during the summer. But today was my day off and I just wanted to window shop, I ended up in TJ Maxx, it was so tempting and everything on the racks were just my speed. I couldn’t handle it so I left and went into the fabric store, but couldn’t stop thinking about this one shirt so I marched back into TJ Maxx, picked up the shirt and two other dresses found their way into my arms as I stomped into the dressing room. The first dress I tried on I struggled with because it had a weird zipper…long story short I ended up accidentally rubbing almost all of my red lipstick on the dress. Of course I started silently panicking and trying to get it off, I probably made it worse. After ten minutes I finally left the dressing room with the clothes and handed them to the lady and just giggled, “I’m having such a bad try on day ahah.” Then, I ran to my car and I’ve been stressing about it since because I’m such a bad person.

But, on the bright side….I still kept my promise to myself!

“I had these ideas to take advantage of the wind with fabric and what not. So, I drove to the closest beach to my house with my one yard of tulle that just wasn’t giving me the effect I wanted, and my hair was going all over the place, but not in that dramatic pretty way, just in that messy way. Although everything wasn’t going exactly how I expected I couldn’t be that mad being reunited with the ocean. Near the end of shooting this happened, a simple, silent picture of me just trying to keep the hair out of my face.”

Toronto-based photographer todd mclellan, explores retro to modern daily items that have, are, or will be in our everyday lives. displayed within the exhibition, every piece of various household items - a phone, lawnmower and typewriter - are meticulously taken apart, and arranged in an organized composition. in another take on a childhood fantasy, mclellan photographs the disassembled pieces as he ejects them into mid-air, allowing pieces to rain down in an explosion-like fashion - offering a commentary on obsolete technologies from the past.

today is my first day back at work….kill me
to quit or not to quit, that is the only question I debate lately
more expected thunder storms, yay!
my grandma put so many beautiful things in my garden
watched Silenced last night….such a hard movie
I haven’t been to the gym all week
some of my grades still aren’t posted…the deadline was last monday
whatever, it’s humid but it’s a bit better than freezing
